I literally couldn’t care less if we lose good bands and good movies if it means outing sexual predators. Let it all fall apart if that’s what it takes to stop allowing these disgusting people safe places to abuse their power. Fuck your favorite movies, fuck your favorite tv shows, fuck your favorite albums. Stop defending bad people because they make good content.
Good post, but please remember it’s okay to feel conflicted if your favorite band/movie/etc has been “taken away” by these things. You’re not a bad person for enjoying content made by people who (you now know) committed awful crimes. Our lives are multi-dimensional, and it’s unrealistic to think you can 100% change your mind about something, even for such drastic reasons.
The important thing is you acknowledge what the creators have done, and you’ll probably find you don’t want to relate to those kinds of people’s content, anyway.
